The former Rivers Angels forward has just returned from the two-month layoff and she went on to bag the 99th, 100th and 101st goals of the Catalan female team in the current campaign.Oshoala opened scoring in the 18th minute as she was faster than the opposition goalie, latching on from Caroline Graham’s low cross into the box. 18 minutes later she doubled their lead by putting the ball beyond the reach of Betis keeper after she recieved a squared ball from Lieke Martens who was released with an aerial ball. KUSASI BANDITS SHOOT AT A CROWD IN BAWKU TOWNSHIP (GOIL) KILLING SOME AND INJURING OTHERS  This afternoon, known Kusasi bandits passing through Daduri shot at a popular base in the Bawku township killing and injuring people. The target base located around the GOIL filling station is where a lot of business men from the Bawku township consisting of Mamprusis, Mossis and other tribes sit to transact business.  So far, the casualties have been conveyed to the Bawku Hospital where some are in critical condition with two reported dead. The injured and dead consists of several tribes like Mossis, Gurmas and Mamprusis. It is clear the Kusasis are targeting any tribe in the Bawku township as part of their old agenda to eliminate everyone in the township so that they can occupy the township.  We therefore call on the military and police command to act swiftly by arresting and prosecuting these Kusasi bandits. Eye witness reports indicate that the shooting was perpetrated by known bandits Majeed

STATEMENT BY THE REGENT OF BAWKU IN RESPONSE TO THE PRESS CONFERENCE BY THE PURPORTED KUSAUG TRADITIONAL COUNCIL AND RECENT THREATS TO PEACE IN BAWKU

Image
17th January, 2022 Ladies and gentlemen of the Press, fellow Ghanaians, we thank you for honouring our invitation to cover this press statement. Our attention has been drawn to a statement read by Ajingiri Abilla (Thomas Abilla) on behalf of Aninchema Abugrago Azoka dated 13th January 2022. We have noted with great concern that the statement is not only filled with inaccuracies and palpable falsehood but also contain scathing attacks on the person of His Royal Highness, the Nayiri, Naa Bohagu Mahami Abdulai Sheriga II who is the Overlord of the Great Mamprugu Kingdom.  As children of HRH the Nayiri, and as part of our quest to stay on the path of truth and in the spirit of peace to present a true picture of happenings in Bawku to Ghanaians, we deem it very necessary to respond to the statement and address the inaccuracies/falsehoods presented by Thomas Abilla on behalf of Aninchema Abugrago Azoka and the Kusasis.  THE RECENT CONFLICT IN BAWKU  First, it is very important to state clear

Awudu Welder has lived peacefully with Mamprusis till he relocated to Low-cost a suburb of Bawku. Information has it that, he had a misunderstanding with some Kusasi boys last night. Little did he know that, he bet his life. The speed at which the Violence seeking Facebook page of the Kusasis, Kusasi Voice Association announced the death of Mr. Awudu Welder, leaves much to be desired. (See attached a screenshot from the page). This was after they killed a Kia Rhino driver at Ambrose one Mr. Tijani a resident of Sabon Zongo, Bawku. The driver was on his way to Tamale. The mate and one other person escaped through a nearby bush. THE KING OF MAMPRUGU, NORTH EAST REGION, GHANA Boahagu Mahami Abdulai Sheriga 🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘 "To the youth I say; Patience! Patience! And Patience! Our own dog, we prepared for our own protection, has bitten us unintentionally! Had the Dog known, it wouldn't have done that, so be patient my youth of Mamprugu" "To be a leader, you should be patient, if not, you can't lead. To be a leader is like leading a blind man to a water source, to wash his dirty clothes, while the blind has full control over you. At every water source, the blind touches the water and tells you, this water is not clear enough to clean my clothes, take me to the next source. He could do this as many times as he wants. Be patient and follow his will. When you finally gets to his desired water source, he will agree to use such water to wash". "At the point of washing, if the blind shows his own washed cloth to you and asks whether it is neat enough? Tell him a part of it isn'

GLORY BE TO ALLAH (GOD) YET ANOTHER GOVERNMENT IN POWER HAS FAIL.

Alhamdulillah Mamprugu kingdom and NAYIRI yet victorious over government in the issues of Bawku chieftaincy after a successful fail in denying NAYIRI and his wish, after successful performance of funeral rites of the fourteenth Bawku Naa Alhaji Adam Zangbeo Tampuri, the kinsmen and elders of NAYIRI were returning back from Bawku and later we heard they are arrested and detained for a reason we don't know, NAYIRI questioned the arrest (offence committed) which took Ghana police several days to tell the whole Ghana and the world the offence committed by the kinsmen and elders of  NAYIRI.         But the surprises couldn't end there when the victims were denied bail and also the constitution of Ghana was turned upside down by the state, refusing to obey article 14-3 that says suspect or the accuse persons must be brought to court within 48 hours of arrest, eventually court have to come into the matter on 4th January 2022 but surprisingly the accuse persons were not brought to cou

THE STATE SHAMEFULLY TURNING THE CONSTITUTION ON IT HEADS.

You see aam, the Attorney general is not been able to explain why they have not brought our clients and this makes it a very sad commentary because look, for the records, this suspect were arrested 8 days on the 28th December 2021, 8 days ago, that last Tuesday and for 8 days on you fail to bring them to court when the constitution makes it clear in article 14-3 that suspect or the accuse persons must be brought to court within 48 hours of arrest and you, even apart from the constitution we went to court in table Number 4 verses Attorney general Number 4 the supreme court said that 48 hours start counting, whether is a holiday, whether is a weekend or whether the court works are on strike or not 48 hours is 48 hours, yet ladies and gentlemen 8 days on, 8 days on the state has refused to bring this accuse persons to court and as far as we are aware they even gonna charge them for misdemeanor, when we say misdemeanor offences, these are offences usefully the punishment, assuming this ap

BAWKU CHIEFTAINCY CHALLENGES THE SUPREME COURT.

BAWKU CHIEFTAINCY CHALLENGES THE SUPREME COURT NEVER RULED AGAINST MAMPRUSIS.          On 27 December 2021, HE President Addo-Danqua Akuffo-Addo caused the arrest of the Nayiri’s representative and other Mamprusi elders, including a pregnant lady, for taking part in rituals performed in Bawku a day earlier to bring closure to the reign of the late 14th Bawkunaba, Adam Zangbeo. An offer to escort them through hostile Kusasi areas was turned into an arrest. On 29 December 2021, the President instructed the Minister for Chieftaincy, Hon Kojo Kum (MP), to urgently release a statement on the occasion of the celebration of the Samanpiid Festival of the Kusasis held in Bawku and with him as Guest of Honour.        The President asked the Minister for Chieftaincy to “draw urgently the attention of all stakeholders in the Bawku impasse to desist from actions and pronouncements that can further escalate tensions and violence in the area”. The writer of this article can prove that the key prot

BAWKU CLASH POLICE ARREST 13 FOR VIOLATING COURT INJUNCTION AND CURFEW

Image
Re: Bawku clash: Police arrest 13 for violating court injunction and curfew Our attention has been drawn to the above news report filed by one Illiasu Tanko and published on Joy News' online portal on January 3, 2022. The report further cites an unknown senior official of the CID as saying "The court in Bawku had placed an injunction on the performance of the funeral. The injunction was accepted by them [the Mamprusis]. It was signed by Dr Bugri on behalf of the regent only for them to turn around to disregard the court ruling. We found that unacceptable, and that’s why we decided to enforce the law". We the family of the arrested persons find these remarks by the unknown CID senior officer preposterous and an indictment on the rule of law. In this regard, we wish to make the following observations: 1. It is absolutely shocking that the police CID claims they "decided to enforce the law" when in actual fact all their actions violate the rule of law. We the fami

We invite you here with a sorrowful and heavy heart that has befallen us over our kinsmen who have been arrested and currently in custody. Our matter is simple; our kinsmen numbering 11 men and a woman had been arrested and sent to Accra and locked up at various police cells. Our lawyers have done all that is legally possible for the police at the CID division of the police headquarter to release the suspects on bail either on police enquiry or before a court of competent jurisdiction as constitutionally required in respect of their fundamental human rights. The police CID have failed or refused to meet their custody requirements imposed on them by the supreme laws of this country and have continued to unlawfully detain our kinsmen. They have now been
