HIS ROYAL MAJESTY, NAA BOHAGU MAHAMI ABDULAI SHERIGA II, KING OF THE MAMPRUGU KINGDOM SIGNS THE BOOK OF CONDOLENCE IN MEMORY OF HER ROYAL MAJESTY, QUEEN ELIZABETH'S II

Your Royal Majesty King Charles III,

On Friday September 16th 2022, His Royal Majesty, Naa Bohagu Mahami Abdulai Sheriga II, King of the Mamprugu Kingdom and Naa Gbewaa Zuu sent a delegation to sign the book of condolence on the passing of Her Royal Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II at the British High Commission in Accra.

The delegation was led by, Wulugu-Naba Naa Professor John Sebiyam Nabila, Paramount Chief of the Wulugu Traditiona Area and eldest son of the Nayiri. Also present was Chief Musah Adam Badimsugru – Gban-Dana and Chief of the Gbani traditional Area. Others were Tinguri-Dana, Sinsong-Rana, the Greater Accra Mamprusi Community Chief among other chiefs.

Mamprugu remember the profound and historic visit in 1961 of the Queen to Ghana and her decision to make it to Northern Ghana in Tamale. This cemented her resolve to experience Ghana (North and South) and its people. The mark of one who had people at heart.

Father of the current Nayiri, His Royal Majesty Naa Sheriga Abdulai who reigned as king of Mamprugu from 1948-1966 attended the durbar of chiefs organized in Tamale in honour of the Queen’s visit.

The people of Mamprugu send our deepest condolence to you, the people of Britain and the entire members of the British Royal Family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
